By a somewhat indirect route I made it to Kyoto station and caught
the Shinkansan for Hiroshima. I
only had a few hours there, but I was really glad I went. It was one
of those places where, although there was obviously not much to look at, there
was a sense of history about it.

Looking at the memorial from the museum.

A surviving building from near the epicentre of the blast.

Another memorial.

The museum goes on in great detail and at great length about the blast
and the effects. After a while it all tends to numb the senses, but
not before the sheer horror is apparent.
