One more holiday, one more dead camera. Some things I've learned
over the last few years:
- Camera hinges can be mended
with gaffer tape. Some of the light leak effects can be cool too.
- Taking a good camera into the Sumatran jungle may reduce it's life
expectancy to around zero. Especially if you lose the lens cap.
- Don't take a digital camera on a speed boat to Krakatoa. If you
do, don't let it end up in a big puddle of sea water. In fact just
don't do a speed boat to Krakatoa - my bum still hurts just thinking
about it.
- Dropping a digital camera, even inside a bag may not be good for it's health.
- A $20 camera from a Cambodian market can mostly take as good pictures as a
fancy one costing 20 times as much. At least in my hands.
The only thing these pictures have in common is that I like them. I
hope you do too.
